As the year draws to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the incredible projects we’ve had the privilege to work on throughout 2024. While strategic planning remained at the heart of what we do, this year brought unique opportunities that challenged and inspired us. Here’s a snapshot of the impact we’ve made across industries, organizations, and communities.
Facilitated Strategic Plans & Action Plans
Strategic planning is our bread and butter, and 2024 was no exception! We collaborated with organizations across industries—sports, education, healthcare, and social services—to craft strategic and action plans tailored to their needs. These projects ranged from half-day workshops to intensive two-day planning sessions and even multi-week engagements involving in-depth community consultations.
Strategic Plan Program
Recognizing that not every organization can budget for in-person facilitation, we’ve developed a guided Strategic Plan Program for smaller non-profits. One standout project this year was helping a nature-immersion alternative school create its first-ever strategic plan—an inspiring journey for an organization dedicated to outdoor education.
Stakeholder Engagement
Stakeholder engagement doesn’t always lead to a strategic plan, but it’s a critical step in understanding and addressing organizational challenges. Here are some of the unique engagements we facilitated in 2024:
Envisioning the Future of Sport: Gathered feedback from the broader sports community to shape a stronger, more inclusive future for sport.
Housing Challenges in Rural Communities: Supported a task force in consulting with diverse stakeholders—business leaders, social services, educators, and municipal authorities—to tackle housing challenges.
Defining New Roles: Assisted an organization in crafting a job description for their first full-time staff member, clarifying boundaries between the new hire and the volunteer board.
Rebuilding Organizational Values: Led consultations to define collective values for an organization navigating leadership turnover and internal challenges.
Improving Cancer Care: Surveyed hospital staff to explore opportunities for enhancing patient experiences during cancer treatment.
CEO Position Review: Bridged gaps between board members and staff to clarify expectations for a CEO role that serves both groups effectively.
Leadership Development
Our custom facilitation services often overlap with leadership development—a space where we’ve had some incredible opportunities this year:
Gender Equity in Sport Science: Designed and delivered a multi-month mentorship program to empower women in sport science.
Team Communication for Growth: Facilitated a one-day retreat for a newcomer support agency, focusing on communication strategies for their rapidly expanding staff.
